The Damsels of Dorkington are a NerdCore Comedy Troupe. What is NerdCore Comedy, you ask? It's comedy that is based in all things nerd, dork, and geek.
We have a range of comedic offerings such as scripted live shows at conventions or events, podcasts, sketch videos, and music. Our goal in each medium is to celebrate Dork Pride. We are four nerds, we are proud of it, and we think you should be, too!
Owner, Manager, Producer, Social Media Whore
Blythe is the conductor of this crazy train. She handles scheduling, produces and edits the podcast, creates the social media posts, and makes sure that Rissy knows where to be at all times.
Blythe found herself on stage at age 2, and no one has been able to drag her off since. She was in dance lessons as soon as she was out of diapers, and she started performing in musicals when she was 8. Someone finally opened a door to nerdery when she was 13 and a friend introduced her to Sailor Moon. She became so obsessed, she taught herself HTML in order to be able to make her own Sailor Moon fan sites. Eventually, through a mutual friend, she met Rissy, who introduced Blythe to a dirty habit: ren fests. Together, they toured midwest faires for two and a half years before they kidnapped Jeff from one of the atrocities and forced him to form the Damsels of Dorkington with them.

These ARE my monkeys. This IS my circus.
Rissy has been creating geeky weirdness for fun and profit ever since she was 15 and rolled a natural 20 in her first ever game of Palladium FRP.
After that came writing Highlander fanfic, which explains the awesome material she writes for the Damsels, including shows, parodies and original songs. Now that she’s a Real Grown-Up and studying Molecular Biosciences at the University of Kansas, she’s moved on to more mature pursuits, like poop jokes and reading China Mieville, H.P. Lovecraft, the “R.R.s” and James Branch Cabell. She makes hers Marvel, unless it’s DC Vertigo. When she’s not listening to Weird Al or working in a genetics lab she can be found inhaling every form of useless trivia known to men and elves. Maybe even to Tarrasques.
Co-Founder, Emcee, Schlepper of Items
Jeff is often found up front and on-stage doing far too much of the talking and getting the crowds…what do the kids call it?...Hype? In addition to helping the Pridecast with occasional appearances and Negaverse episodes, also look for him every other week hosting the Troubadorks Podcast for DorkPride.com or running the Dork Pride Worldwide Club on Xbox Live.
Jeff has been proudly waving his Dork Flag over 3 decades. His first love was Pac-Man at the age of 4, which evolved into a fervent adoration for video games beginning in the days of the Atari 2600. Before the age of 10 he had developed a love for comics (first comic: Gotham by Gaslight, but Marvel/Image/Wildstorm later) as well as the pop culture, music, movies, and cartoons that ruled his day. During high school, he discovered the table top RPGs, fantasy tropes, and technology that would keep him squarely sequestered in his room for years to come. Finding theatre at that time, he sought to rise to the levels of talent that he saw on both the big and small screens, all the while learning that the key to performance was just not taking yourself too seriously.

Props Master, Costumer, Artist, Blythe's Right Hand Man
Amanda is the newest member of the group. She handles much of the design and display of props, costuming, and merch for the group.
While Amanda has loved science and math from a very young age, she always needed an outlet for her creativity. She started making Halloween costumes for herself and her siblings when she was ten after teaching herself to use her mother's sewing machine. She was active in drama and musical theatre throughout elementary and high school, in both cast and crew positions. Amanda quickly realized she could continue satisfying her love of acting and costume design through RPGs and cosplay. She met Rissy in an undergraduate biology course, where they initially disliked each other because they both wanted to be the smart one in the class, though they soon bonded over their mutual love of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog and realized they had a lot of things in common. It was through Rissy that she met Blythe and Jeff, and when the group found themselves in need of a new green Damsel, Amanda jumped at the chance to join the fray.
